Helping Adults End Addiction
The right level of structure for people who want to live a sober lifestyle.
- MORE NURTURING THAN TRANSITIONAL LIVING.
- MORE FREEDOM THAN A HALFWAY HOUSE.
- A SAFE PLACE FOR RECOVERY. TRUE SOBER LIVING.
About Normandy House
Located in safe neighborhoods, surrounded by safe neighborhoods.
Normandy opened the doors to its first sober living home for women in 2007 in the safety of the residential Monteclare neighborhood in northwest Chicago. Successful sobriety of so many of the female residents inspired the men’s home in 2012, located at the Chicago edge of Elmwood Park.
Normandy House offers the benefits of living in an urban location without easy access to drugs. Our properties offer access to employment and volunteer opportunities and proximity to recovery resources, including 12-step meetings and outpatient treatment.
We’ve Walked in Your Shoes
Together Normandy managers have more than 50 years sober.
The founder and managers of Normandy House care about recovery. First-hand experience and successful long-term sobriety give us the ability to genuinely understand the struggles of our residents. Finding the sweet spot between too strict and too lenient can only be possible with experience. If we haven’t been-there-and-done-that, we’ve probably helped someone who has.
Nurturing Home Environment
A community that endures is a community that cares.
Early recovery is a time to focus on creating a new life, a time to build skills to prevent relapse. New residents are often surprised to find Normandy so caring. We want our residents to succeed. Successful sobriety of our residents is what is exciting to us. Many Normandy residents stay connected with us long after they leave. A community that endures is a community that cares.
Individualized Care
The right balance of responsibility, flexibility and support.
We strive to meet residents where they are. What works for you may not work for your roommate. Every situation is unique and will be evaluated with the individual in mind. Our managers have been called a teacher, a professor, a mother, a father, a guide and a friend.
